We spent the night of 28 July 2022 at this stunning lodge on our way back from Madikwe Game Reserve. I cannot complement the staff enough for the friendly welcome and efficient service right from showing us our room to serving us drinks from the bar. Furthermore, we had the company of affectionate cat Dottie which moved in with from the moment we opened our door to beautifully decorated room 3, and left only the following morning! Unfortunately this time I could not enjoy a dip in the inviting blue pool or go for a hike in the hills behind the lodge (I chose to go for a run instead). Thank you to all the staff who made our stay here something very special. Next time I hope to stay much longer. Kind regards, Riana Rosenbaum

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lemoenfontein Game Lodge - it is an ideal stopover point on the drive through the Karoo en route to Capetown. In talking to other guests it was obvious that the lodge has built up a good word of mouth reputation and would appear to have become a well known establishment where you can have a very relaxing and enjoyable break from your long journey. Very nicely decorated airy rooms with luxuriously comfortable beds providing a very good night’s sleep after a long drive. Drinks and the Buffet Dinner served on the outside veranda with views over the reserve was a delightful experience on a warm balmy summer evening. The quality of the food and the friendly and attentive service was excellent and our overall experience was quite exquisite - we will definitely be back for more of the same.

So erlebt man gastfreundschaftliche Aufmerksamkeit selten. Wir können das Lemoenfontain sehr empfehlen.

Fantastiese atmosfeer, heerlike kos en ongelooflik Dit was 'n ongelooflike ervaring by 'n pragtige plek.

A rather belated thank you for a wonderful stay at Lemoenfontein on Saturday 5th December. We weren't quite sure what to expect but we received such a warm welcome, the accommodation and food were first class and all your staff were so helpful and attentive. I will be writing a review on Tripadvisor but wanted to thank you personally for the hospitality. Kind regards Vivienne McCallum

Thank you for a very comfortable stay at your lodge. Trudy was brilliant and your staff helpful and efficient, for which thank you. We had a very good dinner and slept extremely well in your comfortable and cosy beds, snug as bugs! Thank you. A great find and close to the N1 so would recommend you to anyone silly enough to do our drive to Cape Town and back in a short space of time! Kind regards Merry

We discovered Lemoenfontein in the AA travel guide about 5 years ago and have been using it as a stopover on the way to Mossel Bay ever since. When you have been dodging trucks on the N1, the quietness, relaxation and friendliness at the lodge is a welcome relief. The accommodation is excellent and the food outstanding, particularly when you sit outside on the verandah and have this wonderful view of the Karroo in the evening while eating supper. The friendliness of Kobus and the staff is something to be admired. If you have never been to Lemoenfontein – try it for a pleasant experience.

Yesturday we came home, back to the European summer, 12 degree Celcius! We had some fine days after the Karoo and the journey back home went well, thank you. We remember still very lively our days at Lemoenfontein! It was one of our highlights in SA. It was and is a pleasure to tell our family and friends about it. We wish you all the best, a fine winter with the desired amount of rain. Very best regards

We stayed at ‘Lemoenfontein’ last month, and have finally returned from our travels. I just wanted to say how much I finally enjoyed staying there, having of course had many friends who have been there already. The gardens are so beautifully maintained along with everything else, it certainly did not go unnoticed. Best wishes, Lew Rood

What a lovely relaxing overnight spot. We had a beautiful room, a charming hostess and waitrons and excellent meals. Added to this we had a few hours of fantastic birding in the surrounding game farm and garden. I would recommend this stop over to anyone on route through Beaufort West. Next time we will spend a few extra days though. Thank you.

Highlight of our trip. Dear Lemoenfontein Lodge owners and staff, You gave us a wonderful stay on the 15th and 16th January 2014. It was simply an unforgettable experience to sit on the veranda, eating our dinner whilst watching the sun go down over the Karoo and very far off Swartberg Mountains. Magical! Thank you. Charles and Ayleen

We would like to thank all for the excellent service and superb cuisine we received and the attention to detail experienced. Also thanks once again for being able to help us out at the last minute due to my own stupid error. Quietly I am grateful that I made the mistake we could then spend some more time there. We are very impressed with the changes to the units compared to the previous year braai, cupboards, wash basin, steps leading straight to the lawn etc.

Last week we paid a return visit to Lemoenfontein. We have enjoyed our previous visits, but this last visit really deserves a comment. The sense of history that characterizes this establishment is great food for the imagination! Having a candlelit dinner on the verandah overlooking the plains of Beaufort West, one can just see the British nobleman (who built this lodge) and his buddies, relaxing after a day's hunting! History aside, we were warmly greeted by Orbert, and shown to our beautiful room. It had all the extras that make for a comfortable stay ( flat screen TV, tea coffee making facilities, Wi Fi, adaptors for charging gadgets etc) The bathroom is well appointed and (I think) newly refurbished. The dinner was good and graciously presided over by Marianna, Orbert and the owners of Lemoenfontein. The following morning's breakfast was extensive and delicious. Here Marianne is wonderful at engaging all her guests. The gardens are an oasis in the otherwise arid veld of Beaufort West. The pool set in rolling lush lawns is a welcome respite from Beaufort's summer heat. The staff all deserve special mention. Their interaction with all the guests was great. This property is more than a stop-over, it's a special treat on an otherwise monotonous stretch of our fabulous countryside

Dear Ingrid Every word is true – and more. We wish we could stay more often! You should all be sooooo proud of what you offer – and the passion with which you do so. We can feel your love for Lemoenfontein. We only stay there now and then, and you and Lemoenfontein have crept into our hearts in such a big way! Sorry it took so long to do the review – things have been rough. Very cold here in Simonstown – mountains covered in snow and we have had rain and hail on and off all day! Hope you have a warmer weekend than we are in for, and that your beautiful establishment is full of long weekenders enjoying your warm and excellent hospitality! Wish we were there! Kindest regards to you and to Kobus Take care

A Big Thank You!!!! Dear Ingrid and Kobus I trust this e-mail finds you well. I’ve stayed at Lemoenfontein three times to date and I just want to use this opportunity in thanking you for your incredible, amazing and fantastic guest farm and facilities. By far the best on the N1 north. Thank you also for always being friendly and for making your guests feel welcome. Be assured of my continued support and of course reference to other friends and business partners who also travel past Beaufort West on a regular basis. Wishing you all the best and thank you for providing us with a “home” away from home. May you have a wonderful day.

A Big Thank You!!!! Dear Ingrid, Jenny, Laura, Kobus, Moos, and all the Kitchen staff My heart is filled with so much thanks and happiness and I really cannot express the joy I feel! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you whom played a part in assisting my fiancé with his preparations! I am sure you made his task easier as well, by all prior arrangements and supporting him where necessary. Your warm greetings and friendliness are so welcoming and I am so pleased that I could spend my “engagement weekend” with all of you! The memories at Lemoenfontein will be with me for the rest of my life (and I’m sure Craig feels that way to), and I can assure you that we will be returning every year as we felt so at home! Thank you once again for everything you ALL have done! It is highly appreciated J Warm Regards
