Last week we paid a return visit to Lemoenfontein. We have enjoyed our previous visits, but this last visit really deserves a comment. The sense of history that characterizes this establishment is great food for the imagination! Having a candlelit dinner on the verandah overlooking the plains of Beaufort West, one can just see the British nobleman (who built this lodge) and his buddies, relaxing after a day's hunting! History aside, we were warmly greeted by Orbert, and shown to our beautiful room. It had all the extras that make for a comfortable stay ( flat screen TV, tea coffee making facilities, Wi Fi, adaptors for charging gadgets etc) The bathroom is well appointed and (I think) newly refurbished. The dinner was good and graciously presided over by Marianna, Orbert and the owners of Lemoenfontein. The following morning's breakfast was extensive and delicious. Here Marianne is wonderful at engaging all her guests. The gardens are an oasis in the otherwise arid veld of Beaufort West. The pool set in rolling lush lawns is a welcome respite from Beaufort's summer heat. The staff all deserve special mention. Their interaction with all the guests was great. This property is more than a stop-over, it's a special treat on an otherwise monotonous stretch of our fabulous countryside
